We were thrilled to be part of Kerri and Clay’s special day! Both vegan, they asked for a vegan grooms cake (chocolate mint with mint “ganache”) and a two tier wedding cake (almond cake with raspberry “mousse” for the bottom and lemon with blueberry compote for the top). The mousse was so much fun to make with fresh organic raspberries and the mousse coming from w whipped topping derived from almonds and cashews, YUMMY!

We were thrilled to recently be part of a sweet couples’ wedding at Snipes Farm in Chapel Hill. The bride and groom chose a selection of delicious cupcake flavors to compliment the setting including S’Mores, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Stout and many more. The setting was perfect and the weather divine. Congratulations!

When we claim that we use the freshest, chemical free and local products in our cupcakes, we aren’t lying! In fact, we go as far as picking our own strawberries when making our Fresh Strawberry Cupcakes and Red Carpet Ready Cupcakes (Strawberry Red Velvet).
Our favorite place to go strawberry picking is DJ’s Berry Patch in Apex, North Carolina. DJ’s is a family owned and operated farm and old-time roadside farm-stand. We LOVE it, and so do our kids! DJ’s doesn’t use pesticides or chemical fertilizers in their fields, which makes us SMILE.

Once DJ’s opened for the season, both Jenny and Shaughnessy rounded up the kids, and took them pickin’! They had so much fun racing down the rows and grabbing up as many juicy and delicious strawberries as their tiny little hands could hold. All of the kids had red stained mouths and hands as we left, guilty of eating strawberries straight out of the patch. (Sorry DJ, they were too quick for us!)
Aren’t they sweet? (I’m talking about the strawberries, not those little strawberry eating machines. Just kidding!)
Once we filled up two giant buckets of fresh and local strawberry perfection, we paid for our bounty and got right to work in Jenny’s kitchen. After a thorough wash (cant leave the dirt or kid germs on them!), Jenny got to working her baking magic.
A short time later, we have cupcakes!

(See that one right up there? The one with the Strawberry on top? That’s GLUTEN FREE! Jenny makes the best Gluten Free Cupcakes you’ll ever have in your life.)
So there you have it, our serious commitment to using the finest, minimally processed and LOCAL ingredients. We’ll go as far as picking the produce ourselves, er, enlisting our children to do the dirty work. Just like DJ’s, Jenny’s Cupcakery is a family business!

We were contacted by a local mom in Cary, to create a special birthday cake for her one year old son. His name is Jake, and he LOVES dinosaurs. His family even calls him “Jakerszilla” for a nickname. Of course this cutie needs to have a dinosaur themed first birthday!
Mom picked out some super cute party goods and decorations from Birthday Express’ website. ** Then she emailed us the photos, and then we got to work!

Look how cute these little dinosaurs are!
First, Jenny baked a delicious and large sheet cake to feed their expected 25-30 guests! Mom chose our classic White on White cake with a fresh organic strawberry filling. Our White on White is a Madagascar Vanilla Bean cake topped vanilla buttercream. Yum! Then, Shaughnessy tinted the delicious and light buttercream icing into colors to match the decorations. She also made a fresh batch of organic marshmallow fondant to create matching dinosaurs.
We love how cute this cake came out!

Next, we needed to create a “smash” cake for little Jake to enjoy! Lucky little dude got his own T-Rex cake, just for him to eat and destroy!

Once we were all finished, we packed up these delicious custom cakes and delivered them to their home in Cary, NC. Happy Birthday Jakerszilla! We’re so happy that you chose us to make your first birthday special, and catered specifically to YOU!

We have a friend named Amanda, she just moved with her cute little family to Raleigh, NC. Amanda is the proud owner, and incredibly talented photographer behind Manda’s Memories Photography. She contacted us a few months ago to tell us that she was coming to the area and was interested in using our organic cakes and cupcakes for her cake smash customers!
What is a cake smash? A cake smash is a new trend that many parents love to document in photographs! It is the first time you let your little one have cake, in celebration of his or her first birthday. Naturally the little guy or gal is sure to make a great mess, that’s where the fun begins! When Amanda approached us, we were eager to jump all over that opportunity. We’re having so much fun creating beautiful cakes and letting beautiful kids smash and destroy them! We also love that Amanda chose us as her bakers of choice, we want kids to be filling their little bellies with good cake, not chemically processed junk!!
We love to get creative to match the cutest kids with the cutest cakes. We also LOVE love love love love (seriously) the fact that we can match their smash cake, to their birthday theme AND (wait for it) create corresponding cakes and cupcakes for their first birthday party. That’s so stinking cool, these one year olds are total rock stars already!
Check out Amanda’s own little cutie who just turned one this month! Her theme of choice is the amazing Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Right on the tail of the blockbuster movie, we were super inspired!
First off we started with little man’s swirly iced GIANT cupcake! Amanda wanted a delicious Strawberry Red Velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting in yellow and orange colors. Yum! We wanted to have the icing be as fluffy and swirly as possible, reminded by the Truffala Trees in the book.
Clearly her son, and his pup ate it right up! Look how fun Cake Smashing is! I wish I could do it, and I’m all grown up!
Next, Amanda wanted us to create corresponding cupcakes for his actual birthday party. Following the theme, of course we needed the man of the hour, THE LORAX to be present! So, Shaughnessy, our decorator got right to work. She mixed up a batch of delicious and ORGANIC marshmallow fondant and started tinting the colors, rolling them out, cutting and sculpting the Lorax toppers.
Amanda ordered a variety of flavors for her guests to enjoy. It included Fresh Strawberry, with real organic strawberries pureed into the cake and the icing, Chocolate, Vanilla Bean and Snickerdoodle! Since we used fresh strawberries for the strawberry cupcakes, the icing was a beautiful speckled pink color. Then we tinted the remaining icing for the Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes to be blue, orange and yellow. For the snickerdoodle cupcakes, we use a fluffy icing, which we tinted green, and puffed it up to look like grass. In the grass we “planted” Truffala Trees! Our pink and blue truffala trees toppers were made from cotton candy!
We had so much fun creating the total first birthday package with you and for you, Amanda! We hope to do it again for all of your customers looking for a Cake Smash session. If you’re in the Triangle area, be sure to look up Amanda, Manda’s Memories Photography for all of your family photography needs. She takes fantastic pictures and is so easy and pleasant to work with.

We are honored that we were asked to bake 400 cupcakes and a 6inch wedding cutting cake for a special bride and groom today. Their wedding was all the way in Greensboro, NC, for those of you who don’t know, that’s quite a drive from our home in Cary NC. The newlyweds “imported” their wedding cake! That makes us feel so special!
We’re all set a glow by how beautiful this cupcake/cake combo turned out. Jenny learned that the happy couple, M&G had chosen Lavender for their wedding color. Obviously the cupcakes needed to match with the Lavender color schemed wedding. Jenny’s Cupcakery could do more than that, we matched the FLAVOR!
First we started with 100 Lavender cupcakes. When we tell you we use natural and minimally processed ingredients, we mean it. Seriously, Jenny got cramps in her hand from using her mortar and pedestal to grind up the lavender! For our lavender cupcakes, we take our white cake and fill it with lavender pastry cream. Then we top it off with a lavender infused buttercream swirl and a delicate handmade purple sugar flower. So sweet!
Then we made 100 Gluten Free Chocolate Cream cupcakes with the Bride and Grooms initials and a little heart in sugar icing! These came out too cute! M <3 G We're so glad that our Gluten free recipes are so good that even people who aren't celiacs get great enjoyment out of them.
Then we made 200 of our fresh Lemon Blueberry cupcakes. No artificial flavoring or frozen ingredients here! We used fresh organic lemons and blueberries. This lemon cake is packed with such a fresh lemon flavor, it’s the perfect amount of zing!
Now that there was 400 finished delicious cupcakes for their honored guests, the bride and groom needed a spectacular cake to cut! For this gorgeous 6 inch cake we made our “Red Carpet Ready”, stacked with 4 layers of red velvet cake and white chocolate cream cheese icing. Then we piped beautiful white roses. It was so elegant and beautiful.
We then delivered to Greensboro, North Carolina! Look at how stunningly beautiful it looks all together! It’s hard to see with the cell phone camera photo, but Jenny set up little tealights and lace underneath the tower. So classy!
Congratulations to the happy bride and groom, M & G! We thank you for choosing us to make your wedding cake, and hope that you enjoyed it! May your marriage be forever blessed with love and happiness!
